Hi, John - thanks for all the information. I've been reviewing each item in 
your list to better understand what I'll be doing, and more importantly, 
why. I'm curious why you'd clone Robert's repository, though, instead of 
just checking out the latest (stable) copy. Do you really need all the 
versions/history/etc that comes with a complete clone?

Also, about how much space does that clone need? I'm running on limited 
resources (my Debian build boots off of a 64GB SSD).
