Excellent, thanks everyone. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Wells Sent: 25 November 2009 17:07 To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc. Subject: Re: [Bes-admins] Set password and lock handheld - is this correct behaviour?
Content protection would do it. Complex passwords would also - that was confusing the first time I saw it. The device rejects the password but there was no indication of that. You could also see this if you have other password restrictions, like no repeat passwords. When I reset passwords now I append that day's date, ie test1125 for today. I used the BAS to set a new password and lock the handheld, but the new password never got applied to the device. When I tested this with my own Blackberry, it seems that the new password only got applied when the handheld was unlocked in the first place. Can someone confirm this is the correct behaviour / by design / not a bug etc? I can see why it would this way, so no problem really.
