Currently the J installer does not set any registry entries and so does no
appear in uninstall programs. I would like to stick to not using the
registry if possible. The last install page does say:
Uninstall: delete J folder and program group.
Can't imagine why it took 120 seconds. Is the timer number ticking up all
that time? All it is doing is unzipping the install zip file and on any
modern system this should only take about 20 seconds (although it is a bit
slower if it is a reinstall).
The unzip program we distribute with J in tools is a bit slower than pkzip
and winzip but not that much. How long does a 601 install take on that same
system?

I have slowly become more comfortable with the curious behavior of
Program Files in Vista and it is practially a first class citizen in the
current version.
The nasty anomolies that bothered me go away as long as the installer and
JAL insist on running as admin if the install is in Program Files. This
version of the installer does that and there will be hooks that allow JAL
to also insist on admin.
The new install with the Standard option seemed to work fine, although it
took about 120 seconds. I went to see if I could uninstall it and
reinstall using the System option.
I couldn't find any entry for J602 in Uninstall Programs in Vista. Is
there another way to uninstall J602?
