I have no ideas about why your HTC won't enter.

Did this device work on the previous version before passwords were
introduced? That is, were you previously able to connect it to JHS and have
enter work to run a sentence from the jijx page?

Is there any chance you could connect your HTC to JHS running with bind any
on your desktop system to see if enter works on the jijx page.

Alternatively you could edit your ~config/jhs.ijs to have '' for a password.
You could then connect your HTC without a login screen and see if enter
works on the jijx page. This would distinguish between jlogin/password
mysteries vs HTC/enter mysteries.
