it's good enough for use by people who know what they are doing. You can download a nightly, or use svn (highly recommended). Watch the commit notesa, and be wary if an update looks like it may break anything you might worry about. You can then make the updates you have planned, and not have to worry so much about breaking something for a day or two, while you coax others to test, or to throwing in something experimental that might need some consideration time. Once it goes "alpha" you will lose some of that freedom simply because there will then be more people downloading every day and expecting everything to work.
