Don't forget to count MySQL, which uses another n MB. :)

That's fairly normal. It's a beast. Are you running a lot of plugins?
Mine tends to flatten out at about 90MB with only a few plugins. It
might be a little library size dependant. I think SC tends to hold
(cache) a lot of stuff in memory.

That's disappointing. Seems there was a lot of work put into a better
sync mechanism in SC7.

The sync group settings should stick, but it could be a bug like this
one:

There's a way to set the priority from within Server Settings >
Performance, but I'm not sure if it actually has any effect on Windows
systems.

You could try Squeezeslave, which is a Softsqueeze-like Squeezebox
emulator.

If you're talking about the blue and gray colored skin, yes, it's very
beta. Use the Classic skin if you want something that works today.

Run it on a dedicated Linux server and/or throw more hardware resources
at it.

Browse Music Folder to add just a few albums. When you browse down to
it through the directory tree the new album will be scanned and added
to the library. Unfortunately, artwork thumbnails won't be created
when you do this.

For more than a few albums, and if you want thumbnails, your only
choice is to run a scan. If you run just a 'new/changed' scan it
should be much faster than running a 'clear' scan.
