thanks ceejay, but friggin vista 32bit only supports 4gb thanks mickeyg, thats sounds like a plan!
thanks andyg, I think this is exactly what I'm doing. maybe I understood the whole sync thing wrong. what I'm doing is, using the softsqueeze player as reference (since I work at my pc most of the times and therefore listen to this set-up the most) and sync the other 3 players with softsqueeze, so when I walk around the house, everything sounds like one continuous play. isnt that how it's supposed to work (assuming softsqueeze was already updated, that is)? and if yes, how do I achieve this until softsqueeze is updated? just sync the other players and leave softsqueeze out? thanks jjzolx, not really running additional plugins but I think I can live with the 100+ usage. I read about the changed code to improve sync, that's why I even brought it up since I didnt think it worked well for me. but it might be related to the point andyg mentioned. I'll check into the power on/off for my not sticking settings issue. this might be it. thought thou since this was a bug in SC 6.x and there was a fix written, it had been included in SC7? I'll try squeezeslave. the "not supporting high bitrate mp3" trew me off in the beginning thou. yep, thought it might be related to the blue/grey skin. about that running on a dedicated linux server....I have no experience at all with linux (well apart from working with sun on solaris...so maybe ;-)). how do I go about this? can I go out and buy something ready-made, neat, slim, cuddly & sexy, powerful and cheap, stache it somewhere and let it run everything SC related, as well as control it from my hideous vista box? (sorry, one's allowed to dream). thanks for the add music tip. I think, personally, that's probably one of the few things I like itunes better for. itunes mechanism to add new music manually seems smooth enough for me. why doesnt SC include some routine that checks a certain path in certain increments for chances and adds new stuff automatically? thank you all so much for the feedback. feeling even better now, having opted for squeezeboxes. it might have helped a bit thou that i lived right next door to logitech's headquarter ;) -- Loungebob ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Loungebob's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13503 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39152 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
