As far as I can tell, the process for dealing with misbehaving plugins
is:
- users report problems, either directly to the author or in the
forums
- the author, or a helpful user, fixes the problem

That's certainly been the case whenever any of my code has had
"unintended features" ;)

So v7 will indirectly help to streamline this process, as the intention
is to make it easier for users to upgrade plugins to the latest
versions.
