Sorry. I couldn't give up.

I've now read the developers forum service/application discussion and
the wikki but can't find any clear explanation as to why I should want
to run SC7 as a service.

Am I correct to think that the reason I should run it as a service is
that SC will then start up with the computer whereas if I run it as an
application it won't run until I log in?

Especially as I use Remote Desktop in console mode a fair bit the log
on option is probably not ideal... but on the other hand I'd prefer to
continue to use simple mapped drives references in my
paths/shortcuts/playlists and not revisit the duplicate album stuff
(bug 6299).
