This bug definitely exists! I saw it in early January. At the time it looked to me that browsing Various Artists under any Genre returned every album in my collection... but upon reflection it may have been only every Various Artists album. I was busy with rellies and had no time to look at it. I think I probably deleted my cache and installed the latest nightly soon afterwards and I never saw the problem again.
I have always had "Filter genres at the album & track level" set to "Show any tracks and albums for an artist". MC -- ModelCitizen Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
