I haven't checked to see what SS is currently doing, but my interpretation of the "Filter genres at the album & track level" settings are:
"Only show tracks or albums matching the selected genre for an artist" is self-explanatory. Will only show the tracks that match, not all songs on an album if the genres are different on each song. "Show any tracks & albums for an artist" - I've only ever considered this to mean that when browsing an album in "Home > Genres > [genre] > [artist] > [album]", all songs within that album will be displayed, if there is at least one song with the selected genre. I suppose it should also show all albums for an artist if any song by that artist has the chosen genre. I always selected the filtered view (the first option), and frankly don't know why anyone would want the other option, as they could always navigate to see all albums by a matching artist, or all songs on a matching album by using the album or artist hyperlinks from the filtered view. If I had 100 compilation albums, one of which was a christmas album, and I browsed by christmas genre, I'd only want to see that one album, not all various artist albums, otherwise what is the point of browsing by genre? If I also had a song tagged as christmas on another album, I'd only want that song to be listed, such that if I hit play on the genre name, it would only play christmas songs. _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
