an update on the rescan problem... After much sleuthing this weekend, here's what I've found:
If I remove all of my plugins from the plugins folder (not the plugin folder) then I'm able to rescan my library or playlists. If i have only one plugin in the plugins folder, I can also rescan the library. But if I have more than one plugin in the plugins folder then the rescan function does not work at all.
