What I am now thinking is that, rather than buy a more powerful NAS or something like the Ava RS3, I might actually go for something more basic - namely, the Apple Time Capsule - and continue running SqueezeCentre on one of my Macs. It would not be a problem for me to have one of the computers on when I want to listen to music (and, as well as being somewhat cheaper, I was also planning to get an improved wifi setup, so this would kill two birds with one stone). And if I ever need to upgrade to a more powerful NAS in the future, I would still have use for the TC.
I do see, from other threads, that there were some problems using streaming from an Apple TC via SC earlier this year but, so far as I can see, that now seems to have been resolved.
