No problem I do that all the time :)

The upgrade problem is more complex than I explained it ranges from
deleting the cache folder to full reinstall.
Upgrading between a minor release is seldom a problem and most
nightlies just work.
But it think 7.1 to 7.2 was hard to do or was it 7.2 to 7.3 memory
fades fast, one of these needed a complete purge of anything SC from my
system to work, the other one just needed the traditional cache wipe.

I do ask on the forum when thats happens, and the answer I get is wipe
cache ,if that fails reinstall.
Every dev person that have answered me, seems to accept the fact that
SC can mess up it's own cache so bad that SC is no longer working ?
and can not recover without help.
I was thinking about reporting this "feature" of SC as a bug on it's
own, but for the time being my SC is working really good and i have no
case/example to show. The occurrence of a "need to wipe cache"
scenario
is very rare, it will be a very slow moving bug if ever reported and as
your product evolves I bet that exact circumstance will never occur
again and next time I have to wipe my cache for an entirely new root
cause.
