I agree with htrd in that it is worded in a way that you are encouraged
to download and use the software.  That's the way it's supposed to be
with beta software!  You want to encourage people to jump on board and
use it.

Back in the old days, the beta releases were solid.  Back when I got my
first squeezebox, I ran a beta version of 6.5.4 because it included the
gapless LAME mp3 feature.  It was a rock solid release.  Many betas
after that were the same.

What's going on with the 7.4 line now actually sounds more like an
alpha release to me.  

There is no better way to irritate your customers than giving them
alpha quality software and calling it beta.  I saw it in one of my past
jobs when I worked in customer support and helped run some beta SW
trials.  When beta software is released, there is a certain level of
expectation about it's stability.  When that expectation isn't met,
people get *really* ticked off.  Throw bricked controllers into the mix,
and people really start losing their patience (and I can't say I blame
them).
