Even though some people are going to be disappointed when their favorite bug is closed I think they are going to be happier in the long run if they get an indication if you don't plan to fix something. Also, we will all be happier if there are less irrelevant bugs/enhancements in bugzilla, it means that you can spend more time implementing new stuff and less time managing the bug tracking database. I can only speak for myself, but I would prefer to know as soon as possible if you don't plan to implement something. If I know it isn't on your priority list, this is something where a third party plugin/applet might be suitable. However, if you target it to the currently developed release, it feels pointless to make a third party solution for it. In this case it can sometimes be a bit frustrating to have to wait four releases until you realize that this enhancement is something that probably isn't going to be implemented. Maybe it would be a good idea to somehow indicate which bugs/enhancments that won't be implemented unless you get some time left at the end ? I think everyone that has worked in a software project knows that there aren't going to be any time left, so if there was an indication like this we would know that unless someone contributes a patch it isn't going to be implemented. I'm not sure if the priority could be used for this ? Or is the priority is mostly used the last months before the release date and not at all in the beginning of a new development cycle ? -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69245 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
