Okay, I interpreted Phils' stale as referring to bug not being fixed for years not stale data (academic)
used Mp3Tag and found an albums with the 'Empty' Genre tag 'Africa', and have corrected tags. For reference, this was a compilation with 13 distinct artits, none of whom I have other 'albums' by. It had 'compilation set to 1. However, a few other rogue genres, e.g. "progressive rock", contained just one, such tagged', album by a single artist. Expanding these genres, did show that artist, expanding the artist then listed all albums by that artist, irrespective of genre. In each case the wrongly tagged albums were not the only album by that artist. I think therefore the 'off-by-one' is not single artist but possibly single album or combination of single artist/album.
