Nicely put. Adding my voice to this discussion, FWIW (and some of the discussion in this thread suggests that the decision is so cast in stone that WIW is *nothing* to those making the decisions) this issue is the primary reason I'm not switching from 7.3, despite liking some of the 7.4 enhancements. Right now, the UI design philosophy appears to be to cripple older generation devices because of the simplistic UI model of the shiny new touchscreen devices. Touch as a UI is barely beyond infancy, though. As it matures support of more gestures will become commonplace and the current generation touch will look quaint and antiquated. Logitech needs to take the long view here. Device UIs already are heterogeneous and are going to remain so as future generation devices are designed. One size fits all doesn't cut it, and that isn't going to change. -- stephenkca ------------------------------------------------------------------------ stephenkca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7820 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69471 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
