This is why picking an arbitrary image (no matter the criteria) is going to create support issues. You pick the first one, somebody wants you to pick the last one. You pick the big one, somebody wants the small one. Pick a gif, someone wants jpegs. How can anyone put _zero_ effort into creating a cover.jpg image of their choice and instead expect to toss four images into a folder and then have SbS pick the 'right one' (for them)?
There are only two scenarios where I see this being a benefit: Someone using the artwork filename formatting pref, such as '%ARTIST - ALBUM'. If they screw it up (as about 90% of the people attempting to use it seem to do) then as long as there's only a single image in the folder, they get their cover art and are none the wiser. And someone using some bizarre cover naming convention.
