You obviously haven't read any of my previous postings on this. All of these things you've brought up have been discussed a lot before. If you want to kick it all off again, please post in another thread; I don't think we should muddy this thread any further.
The things related to this thread are: 1. If you do have a Compilation or Album Artist tag, auto setting of the album compilation tag won't happen, and the logic will be shortcut quickly. 2. Detecting when an album has varying artists to auto set the compilation tag can be done in one SQL query for full SC. This can run very quickly. 3. Doing the logic as each song is scanned by embedded scanner can be optimised by using my query, giving it an album id - should run very quickly. There has been a long-standing bug that if an album is marked in the DB as a Compilation, and then tags are changed and rescanned, the DB won't auto detect that it is no longer a compilation.
