However, I like the old functionality, and it seems super fast to me, never had
a problem with responsiveness on my i7-3770K PC ;-)

Your server probably is at the higher end of the machines being used to run LMS. But I have seen cases where even my MacBook Pro running from SSD would take several seconds to return results using the regular search. The latest tweaks to the DB backend and memory usage did eliminate much of this delay. But it's still much slower on eg. my production machine (Atom based). The lower power and less memory your machine has, the more obvious the difference will be.

Therefore you won't see the album artist, or the album from which a
track is taken etc.

That's quite a loss. I have loads of versions of the same song, eg. that
appear in live recordings, and can't tell one from the other by the title
alone. Does that really take much time to fetch/render, once you have a
specific id for a lookup?

The good news for you is that the old search is still available. If you decide to prefer the old search, just hit enter instead of selecting an item from the popup.

This new search will return the first five items
found for the keyword entered grouped by album/artist/tracks.

That's not many, if continuing down this avenue, could it be a configuration
option?

The number of results or the use of the new life search?
