Let's say you want to browse the "main" artists in your library. Artists that have albums. You browse "Album Artists". But you'll have access to all of their recordings, including their one track on a soundtrack album and that track on a Christmas collection. Now, lets say you want to see everyone in your library, even those 350 people that you never really heard of who have a track on an 80s disco hits collection or a 1970s AM radio hits release, or who sang as a guest on a 1956 Peter Seger album. You can browse "All Artists". And "all" really means ALL: both the common and the obscure artists in your library. The alternative (and the way it used to work) is to set the option to a "Single, configurable list of artists" and then set either "List compilation albums under each artist" or "Group compilation albums together". The former configures the artist list to include all artists, while the latter makes it include only album artists. So it was an either/or deal. If you wanted an uncluttered artist list, then you didn't have an easy way to browse the more obscure artist names in the library. With the new option, you have both immediately available. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101720 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
