Hi devs,

Congrats on getting the translation branch merged! Good work.

There a unfortunate feature in Blender that's been bugging me (and seemingly a
lot of other people based on Twitter) for some time now. That is how when you
unwrap a model and then load in an image the UVs immediately distort to match
the aspect ratio of that image; causing you to have to unwrap again. Often
times this is not really a problem since unwrapping again isn't a big deal and
most the time the images mapped will be square. However, in the case of an
imported model that does not have seams and that was not unwrapped with
Blender's default "Unwrap" command there's no good way to fix this except to
modify your image to make it square, or to just scale the UVs as best you can.
Honestly I can't think of a single reason why this behavior would be wanted…

Is it feasible to please remove this and make the UVs not distort upon loading
an image?

Thanks!
