I definitely feel like using completely random sets of cards (like you can choose on BSW) adds a lot of depth to the game. If you're using one of the suggested sets, it's pretty clear what kind of deck building strategy is going to work the best. If you're using random cards and end up with cards that don't combo well together, it's a lot more challenging to build your deck, and it's often necessary to plan your way to victory from the first few turns.
