+1. I have both the original for travel and the deluxe for home play-
great replay value with the alternate characters, simple, short and
thematic!

As far as Carcassonne is concerned, isn't there a variant that's
better for two players? My 2p experience with vanilla Carc was very
lackluster.

Hive's great, Catan the card game too but rather long (way too long
for lunch- same goes for Spaceship Catan). Apparenty In the Year of
the Dragon and Citadels are also fun 2p.
