Funny...this is my 1st BGG post, and it's not on BGG! I second many of the aforementioned games, especially RFTG, Dominion, and Mr. Jack. I'd add:
Carcassonne The Castle: it is specifically for 2 players. Straight up Carc is good 2 p, but it ends up being a zero sum game, which I think makes it less interesting than when you play it with 3 or more. Odin's Ravens is good, as is Caesar & Cleopatra. Both are from the Kosmos 2p line, like Lost Cities. But they're not my favorites. My only complaint with Settlers CG is that it tends to take a long time.
