Naw... I think Lost Cities is highly overrated. Among the Kosmos 2- player line there are much better games, my favourite being Dracula: short game, you set it up in about 2 mins and it takes 20 mins average. It's a good memory and bluffing game. Also the two LotR games Confrontation and the Duel are very nice. Balloon up is a great fun game where you can play cards into your opponents' playing area, so it gets very tricky at points.
Also, Mr jack is an awsome deductive 2-player game with quick set-up and 30 mins of great fun. I think catan the card game was a very meager conception, on the other hand Starship Catan is an awsome adaptation of its bigger brother, very deep game play, very intense two player action since both players can't have access to the same module upgrades, BUT it has a somewhat longer set up time and the game itself may take up to 60 mins!! But the game components are great and it looks fantastic once you have it on the table. There is also Ebbe & Flut (Adlung games) a great strategy game for to players or solo play, it jsut doesn't look very appealing, so if you can overlook this issue...
