Thanks for all the feed back.  I contacted Jim Thill at Hiawatha
Cyclery and he was incredibly helpful.  Provided me with the S&S link
(www.sandsmachine.com) which includes a very detailed description of
breaking down and packing a bike, recommened a number of tools to
carry and gave me some tips on dealing with the airline.  I'm just not
used to getting that kind of help from the LBS's around here.   Now
the only hurdle is my wife.  I can hear it now.  "You want ANOTHER
bike?"
