I saw a marketing display of 50cc mopeds at Waste Townie (don't ask why I was there) this summer and they are making claims that a) their "mopeds" can be registered as such and b) their top speed is 45 mph.

Point b) makes their claim a) invalid -- by Wisconsin State Statute (cf: "(29m) "Moped" means any of the following motor vehicles capable of
speeds of not more than 30 miles per hour."


I see these exact same models parked all over the place in bike racks.

Our city, state & university officials got some splainin to do.
