The current issue of Sierra magazine has three or four articles on biking. The first describes an early 1900's ELEVATED BIKEWAY in LOS ANGELES, constructed of wood. It includes a few fascinating photos. I believe there is a 10-lane freeway in that corridor now. Read it and weep. But there are some encouraging thoughts on salvaging good riding space even there.

Here is great video showing one of Portland Oregon's bicycle boulavards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM60DqAM6bQ What is nice about this video is that it not only shows how wonderful bicycle boulevards are, but it also gives advocates an idea of what kind of hurdles these projects may face. _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
