The project has a good chance of getting funded. If it is, it would be done in 2010
2010?!?! Can't somebody get down there with a couple brush cutters and a bobcat for a day or two so it is at least passable in the mean time?!? It seems ridiculous that we should have to wait so long for what will probably be the most used section of trail when the rest of the trails though rural areas and small towns is already complete. Does it have to be paved? Why spend the money? Why not just limestone or gravel... at least for the interim. Seems like a lot of hassle and red tape. Fitchburg doesn't seem to take so long to build new roads within subdivisions.
