I like the duckbill racks ... but ... in my experience they do not  
work for bikes with even _very_ small front racks, nor (if my memory  
serves me correctly) do they work for all bikes with fenders that  
extend past the top of the front tire.  I suspect that small changes  
to the hoop would take care of that, though I can't think of a  
modification that would make them usable for a bike with a porteur  
rack or a newsboy type front basket.  One easy change for the good  
would be to make them a little more attractive and a lot more  
visible.  Perhaps a bright powder coating and perhaps a pair of "bike  
parking" signs that extended above snow drifts.
