Moon rides --

Friends and coworkers have joined in on informal full moon rides on the Oak
Leaf Trail in Milwaukee County from South Shore Park to Grant Park for about a
dozen years now.
We bike to the beach in Grant Park, watch the moon come up big and orange over
the lake, then pedal back.
The Palomino has become a handy start and end point.
We've missed a few this summer because of work commitments, but hopefully I can
wrap things up in time tonight. The moon rise is 7:23.

I've heard there is an impromptu "full moon" ride every month, which would be
tonight. i don't know when it starts, where it starts or where it ends, i
think you just catch the group somewhere on the route....i remember looking out
my window one night, seeing a few bikes pass (they all had lights!) then a few
more, and a few more and by the time they all passed, there had to be about a
hundred people riding by....it was quite impressive.

How much fun would it be to have one of these in Madison? 10,000+ people and a
glow-in-the-dark tshirt!
