Patrick -

I want to understand # 1 a-b below, but am confused where you mean. E Main
St is one block north, with no lights, only stop signs for traffic on Main
St.

Did you mean Wilson St? That is the street that goes up the hill towards the
Capitol, and also the little stub of a street that is east of Blair leading
to the Isthmus Path eastbound.

It sounds like you are having trouble crossing Willy St from the Isthmus
Path to the Lake Monona Path because of the flying rights from John Nolen to
Willy St? (Southbound to continue west on the Lake Monona Path)

I know it makes for a two-staged crossing (not very bike-friendly), but if
you follow the pedestrian WALK lights, you won't have a conflict with
turning vehicles.

And this brings up another suggestion when responding. Because there are two
paths - the East Isthmus Path and the Lake Monona Path (both technically
part of the Capital City Trail), and various streets: John Nolen, Blair,
Williamson, and Wilson, it would be helpful for people commenting and
responding to be as detailed as possible in what maneuver and in which
direction you are having trouble. Be specific about where you are coming
from and where you are going, if you can. Many people make these crossings
in two or three steps, while others make the maneuver in one step, like
driving a car, so we may not always understand why/where you are having
trouble.
