Torrey brings up a point about the crosswalks....I agree...AND I think all
crosswalks should show the walk sign during the normal cycle..its so odd that
so many of our pedestrian path crossings require the button to be pushed...so
what if you hit the intersection during the cycle while you're moving 10mph
plus? Its not rare at all to have drivers yell at me or others saying it say's
"Don't walk"....simply put, having the "walk" sign every cycle is important to
tell autos and others that pedestrians are, or can be, in the intersection so
look for them....I know "Pedestrians have the right of way when in
crosswalks...even with a don't walk sign"...legally...BUT...the perception is
that isnt the case for many. Madison is the only city I've seen that doesn't
have the auto "walk" cycles..especially at major pedestrian and bikeway
intersections...that is a flaw, in my humble opinion. Let's "Brand" Madison
roadways with the signage that exists to show
that Pedestrians do have the right of way as well.
Safe Travels!

Hi,
Improve the entrance to Machinery Row. The driveway seems to be a dangerous
crossing for bikes.
Eliminate the push button cross walks. Just make them automatic. It is a bother
to push the buttons while on a bike.
Thanks.
