The city's plan seems doomed. Especially now that the mayor is asking all
departments to find another 5% in cuts across-the-board.

The state DOT guidelines for recreational path lighting specify that there
should be no darkness gaps - to avoid the effect of night blindness
in-between too-far-apart light poles. In this regard the city's plan fails.

Westmorland had a meeting yesterday evening. I'm guessing somewhere around
60% oppose any kind of lighting. Of course that is not an informed opinion,
more like a NIMBY knee-jerk rejection of any change. Personally I have
trouble with the brightness of the LED 20' tall fixtures and would prefer a
dimmer closely-spaced bollard design.

Yeah, Sly doesn't get bikes. Perhaps if someone builds him a recumbent
station wagon style bike with simulated wood grain siding, he might be
willing to join us for a ride.

As for the SW path lighting, all the scientific analysis I've heard is
against the project. Is there any good study in favor of lighting the path?

Thanks.
