We don't have a study showing lights on the SW Path south of the Beltline through the Orchard Ridge and Dunns Marsh/Allied Drive neighborhoods is safer either but I hope they are not turned off.

I need a study showing the lights as planned would make it safer. In the papers and in the one meeting I attended, bikers made a good case about the lights as planned disrupting night vision. As far as I know MPD is not requesting lights and its not clear lights would reduce crime. I'll support the lights if I have a good reason to, but I haven't heard a good reason yet. If you can only go 5 mph at night, maybe you need a brighter head light?
