I called Madison Metro with a concern about all the unlimited ride passes being sold on Craigslist. Schools are charged per swipe for making the cards available to students. So there is a hard cost beyond putting extra people on the buses. If it takes checking ID's to get abused cards out of circulation, I don't have a problem with it.
