I am someone with an exaggerated startle response which just seems to get
worse the older I get. Still, I really, really appreciate it when people
let me know when they are passing -- especially if they have to get close.
Sometimes I start violently even when someone tells me they are passing. I
am never angry about their warning -- the opposite in fact; I am very
grateful -- but I bet I may sometimes look angry. Being startled can create
some intense emotion.

Bottom line: thank you thank you to everyone who says something.
