thanks for the attention on that very difficult site...wondering if there's
enough space on the north side of the street/curb area to make a double
direction bike lane and have east bound bikes crossing to the north side at the
whitney way intersection...?  I'm sure staff has looked at plenty of
options...but a naked turn lane with the kind of driving I witness in the
mornings especially on that route doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence.

The city and Tony Fernandez have drawn up plans to put in a left turn lane for
bikes.  Not
sure of the timetable.

This may have been addressed here before, put Clay's question reminded me of
another
nasty intersection that needs a safety improvement. East bound cyclists on Old
Middleton
Road, have to cross Old Middleton near the Eau Claire Ave intersection in order
to access
the bike path. It is a terrible place to cross, and probably needs a lot more
than a green box.
Are there any improvement plans for this intersection? Mark

    Hello,

Can anyone recommend a person to speak with to try to get a crosswalk area in
Madison painted green (or if you have other suggestions to improve safety)?

The area is the Capital City trail where it crosses Rim Rock near the Sheraton.
