Also, there is another U.S. Bike Route -- # 45 -- that runs along the Mississippi, but that has also been mapped as part of the Mississippi River Trail (most not on "trail," so that's just a name) that runs the entire length of the river. I think the ones they are working on now are now are Route 37 along Lake Michigan, Route 20 connecting Minneapolis to Manitowoc (and the ferry to Michigan), and Route 10 connecting Minneapolis to the U.P. In the bigger picture, it runs from western Montana to Boston. Within Wisconsin 75% of that route can be done on existing trails, which is why it was easy to do.)
