If you're using IMAPdir, you can set outlook to use "Sent" as your sent mail folder. If you're using Maildir++, use "INBOX/Sent". You may need to create the Sent mailbox yourself; I'm not sure how Outlook works. My $0.02 are on outlook using the local sent folder instead of the IMAP folder.
