I use Microsoft Entourage for OS X. You can choose what columns to display. The default is to show the "Received" column instead of the "Sent" column. If Outlook is similarly designed, and you've moved mail from other systems (say, old emails from a POP account), this would produce the symptoms you're seeing. Once I hid the "Received" column and revealed the "Sent" column for each of my folders, I got the behavior I wanted. -B...
