I"m experiencing the exact same problem.
Started the quicksilver.app that I downloaded from Blacktree.com.
(tried downloading a numbe rof times to make sure the file was not
corrupt)
After launching the app I see the flashy screen appear and that's it.
No preferences screen, no nothing.

I tried removing all the files that were created and reinstall.
Files are created in
library/users/user/library/application support/quicksilver
library/users/user/library/application support/preferences/
com.blackberry........

no plugins are to be found in application support.
I'm on a 10.6.6 machine.

Any suggestions are very welcome!
