Assign Abbreviation could check if the item is in the Catalog and, if 
that's not the case, add it to Custom.

Btw, why there's no Add Entry to Catalog action? And, how should Show Entry 
in Catalog work? It doesn't with file/folder items. How is it different 
from Show Source in Catalog?
