Just as a data point: I get this same behaviour when using the system file/path picker, and sometimes QS.If I have an external hard disk connected, sometimes the entire operation blocks while I hear the external drive spinning up for a few seconds.
I have yet to understand exactly what causes this, because it frequently happens even if I'm not navigating faders anywhere nea the external disk. »Lucas Garron On Thu, Jul 17, 2014 at 8:04 AM, Nicolas Sihlé <[email protected]> wrote: > Many thanks, Patrick, for the quick reaction and the suggestions. > I generally have an external hard drive connected, for the Time Machine > backups. > I tried (just a few times) with and without the connected drive, with > irregular results: I could make sense of no clear pattern here. > I then opened Console.app — the first time I do so... :-) > I then looked at the Console readings for a few sequences in which I open > Quicksilver, invoke it, and then choose a PDF and open it with Skim.
