I have tried to follow Patrick's suggestion, and clear the launch services.
However, I have not located any file called

"com.apple.LaunchServices.lsboxd.plist", located in
Système/Bibliothèque/LaunchAgents: should I try deleting that one?

Don’t remove that file. It doesn’t contain a cache of information. It controls the startup of a service.

I’m not sure what the command was, but have you tried…

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed -r

I have also taken the occasion of another long wait for the "Open with" command (15 seconds on my powerful MacBook) to retrieve the Console log for that precise occurrence; there may be more to identify in that? Just in case, I attach a screen capture of the log for those 15 seconds to this

*Maybe* it indicates that Quick Look is running into problems looking up icons?

You can disable the Quick Look previews in Quicksilver temporarily to test. Shut down QS and run this in Terminal:

    defaults write com.blacktree.quicksilver "QSLoadImagePreviews" NO

Start it up again and see if the problem is still there. (Run the command with “YES” to go back to normal.)
