It didn't fix it.  I'll leave the book as it is and close the ticket.

Might still be a while before I get around to my other tickets - now
that I've got a system with debug info I want to look at qupzilla
(on the _previous_ version, it segfaults as soon as I try to play
anything at youtube). <sigh/>
