My stable machine (where I'm typing this) has 7.9 plus only
necessary updates - I don't think that a gtk/glib/etc upgrade counts
as necessary :)
And until now I had NOT noticed this. I have three gtk3
applications that I use fairly frequently (actually, make that four,
but I'm not going to kill firefox to see if I can notice the problem
there) -
audacious - I cannot see the problem, probably because the main
window is black
gucharmap and evince - for me the black window is extremely
short-lived, which is why I had not noticed it before. This machine
is a SandyBridge i3 with only 4GB and at the moment it is marginally
in swap (five desktops in use).
Yes. It's a very subtle and purely cosmetic bug. When you start a GTK3
application, the area where it will appear will briefly flash black
before the application decorates the window. This is definitely not the
expected behavior if you've used GTK3 applications on a different platform.
