ffmpeg, as of when I put 0.6.1 in - based on a lot of
experimentation about a year ago, to find out what added extra
capabilities for AV replay. To be honest, I think we should
probably have *all* the gstreamer plugins too (i.e. add bad and
ffmpeg).

The key phrase is 'typically' - ignoring several "you need A or B
or C" situations (where at least one of the requirements is in the
book) we've got FreeTTS requires sharutils, Amarok requires TagLib,
and FOP requires Java Advanced Imaging API. I raised #3179 for the
*required* deps: since nobody seems interested, I'm not in the mood
to add *recommended* deps to the book - if someone else wants to, I
certainly won't object.

As always, the problem with adding things is that we pull in others
along the way (I thought I was going to have to pull yasm in for
libvpx, until discovering the latest release could use nasm - I'd
also assumed nasm was still 32-bit only). In some ways, a much
*smaller* book would be nice - more likely to be up to date, for a
start - but I doubt any of us would be *happy* with it.
